British Wants in Fruits and Veg
[The British] want their fruit and veg to be the best quality, available year-round, British but in season, cheap but with growers paid fairly, and ideally produced without any use of pesticides or artificial production methods.
Hmm. I’d like that too.

Do they also want the streets paved with gold?
Perhaps global warming will bring year ’round summer to Britain, and they can have locally grown produce all year. No, this comment is not tongue in cheek …. why would you think that? :)

Thanks Kay, Thanks Kathleen. I suspect in part this is the result of the way the survey was constructed. One question. Do you want local food? Another question. Do you want fresh food year round. Answer yes to both without realizing the contradiction. In part, though I think we all are coming to expect wonders from the food system.
