No more Golden Arches for Icelanders
McDonald’s, the world’s largest restaurant chain, opened its first store in Iceland in 1993. The first person on the island to consume a Big Mac was then Prime Minister David Oddsson, who later became governor of the central bank before his dismissal by the current ruling coalition earlier this year. The island has three McDonald’s restaurants, all of which will be closed.
They only had three restaurants. But if it can happen in Iceland . . .

McDonald’s didn’t make it in Bolivia, either. The La Paz store closed in 2002. With the exception of Burger King, none of the US fast food franchises seem to have made it in Bolivia.
Can’t say I blame the Bolivians….I’d prefer a good Salteña or Tucumán any day….
it certaily can happen anywhere – we can also expect that McD won’t be rushing to countryside villages on greek islands, either!
