The National University of Mexico (and Its Food)
Quite a good article in the New York Times on UNAM, the National Autonomous University of Mexico, where we spend a good bit of our time.
Saturday Morning Theater seen from Azul y Oro, UNAM
What it omits to mention is that you can eat well there. Ricardo Muñoz’s café, Azul y Oro, serves some of the best Mexican food in Mexico City. I was pleased recently to be able to write up Ricardo’s splendid Diccionario Enciclopedico de la Gastronomia Mexicana for Saveur 100. Sad to say this massive illustrated compendium of Mexican cuisine is out of print but with any luck a new edition should be out later this year.
And it also omits that this is great dog walking territory
